Moab Reads Information The goal of the Moab Reads program is to bring individuals in the community together for a shared reading experience in order to increase their enjoyment of reading and build a greater sense of community through discussion and the sharing of thoughts and ideas.
Moab Reads 2011 Schedule of Events ** All events are FREE and will be held in the Grand County Public Library's large meeting room unless otherwise noted. The Library is located at 257 East Center Street in Moab, UT. Check back often for updates!
Book Giveaway/Film
Thursday September 15th 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Community members are invited to come pick up a copy of "Refuge" and at 7:30 p.m. there will be a showing of the 30 minute film "Wings of Thunder: a Portrait of Life on the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge"

Finding Refuge in Change: A Conversation with
Terry Tempest Williams
Monday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m. at Star Hall,
159 E. Center St, Moab, UT
Join us for an
evening with Terry Tempest Williams as she discusses the process of writing,
Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family and Place, the Moab Reads book
selection for 2011. She will discuss the state of Great Salt Lake and
issues surrounding Utah's wildlands and how it embraces issues of health,
economics, and social justice. She will speak about how in a broken world,
all problems are interrelated and interconnected. Her father, John Tempest,
and husband Brooke Williams, will join her in this discussion offering their
points of view as family members.
